Working With Direct Mail Specifications

Direct Mail specs have some unique functions that are unavailable with any other type of spec. This section covers the following direct mail spec functions:

  • Creating a Direct Mail Spec
  • Adding a Data Processing List to a Direct Mail Spec
  • Managing Files in a Direct Mail Spec
  • Adding an Item to a Direct Mail Spec
  • Adding a Mail Drop to a Direct Mail Spec
  • Adding a File to the Shipment Details

Creating a Direct Mail Spec

To create a Direct Mail Spec:

  1. Create a project.
  2. Navigate to the Project Home page.
  3. Click Specs in the Project Menu and select Create... from the drop-down menu.
  4. Select Direct Mail and click Continue.
  5. Enter a Spec name in the Name field and fill in any other relevant information.
  6. Click Update.

Adding a Data Processing List to a Direct Mail Spec

To add a Data Processing List to a Direct Mail Spec:

  1. Click Add in the Data Processing section of  the Create Spec page.
  2. The Data Processing List page opens.
  3. Enter the list name in the List Name field and enter any other relevant information in the fields provided.
  4. Click Add.

The list is added to the Data Processing Lists section at the top of the page.

  1. Click Return to the return to the Create Spec page.

Editing and Deleting Data Processing Lists

To edit a Data Processing List:

  1. Click the Edit icon in the Data Processing Lists section on the Create Spec page.
  2. The Data Processing Lists page opens.
  3. Make any relevant changes and click Update.

To delete a Data Processing List:

  1. Click the Delete icon in the Data Processing Lists section on the Create Spec page.
  2. Click Yes in the confirmation dialog that appears.

 

Adding Files to a Direct Mail Spec

To add files to a Direct Mail Spec:

  1. Click Manage Files in the Files section on the Create Spec page.
  2. Click Attach Files.
  3. Click Browse and navigate to the required file.
  4. Enter any additional information in the fields provided.
  5. Click Upload File.

The file information appears in the File section on the Create Spec page.

Adding a Spec Item to a Direct Mail Spec

You can add two different types of spec items to a Direct Mail Spec:

  • A Noosh Spec
  • A Non-Noosh Spec

To add a Noosh Spec Item to a Direct Mail Spec:

  1. Click Add in the Item section on the Create Spec page.
  2. In the Add New Spec Item section, check the Select specs from Noosh radio button, enter a name or reference number and click Find Spec.
  3. Click Add.

To add a Non-Noosh Spec Item to a Direct Mail Spec:

  1. Click Add in the Item section on the Create Spec page.
  2. In the Add New Spec Item section, check the Specify a Non-Noosh Spec and enter the required details in the fields that appear.
  3. Click Add.

When a spec is added in appears in the Items section at the top of the Add Item page.

  1. Click Return to return to the Create Spec page.

Adding a Mail Drop to a Direct Mail Spec

To add a Mail Drop to a Direct Mail Spec:

  1. Click Add in the Mail Drops section of the Create Spec page.
  2. Enter a name in the Mail Drop field and specify any other required details.
  3. Click Add.

The new mail drop appears at the top of the page.

  1. Click Return to return to the Create Spec page.

Editing and Deleting Mail Drops

To edit a Mail Drop:

  1. Click the Edit icon in the Mail Drop section.
  2. The Mail Drop page opens.
  3. Make any required changes and click Update.

To delete a Mail Drop:

  1. Click the Delete icon in the Mail Drop section.
  2. Click Yes in the confirmation dialog that appears.

Adding a File to the Shipment Details

To add a file to the shipment details:

  1. Click Attach File in the Shipment Summary section on the Create Spec page.
  2. The Attach File section opens. Click Browse to enter a specific file and enter any other relevant details.
  3. Click Upload File.
